Math Facts and Goal Setting

This is the front. I use this to discuss goals and progress with students.
This is the back. Here students graph their growth. This gives them a visual for their progress.
I love to have my students set goals. It is truly a way to develop ownership in learning. I have found it most challenging to have my students set goals in math. I think that it is because there are so many targets to meet. While they do cycle, it is not frequent enough for me. One target that is key in 2nd grade is math fact fluency. For this I have created a conference sheet and graph to aid in conferencing and goal setting.

Setting goals in math facts alone wasn't enough. So I also created a sheet to have my students set personal math goals on tested targets. I love this sheet because it is easy and not time consuming. Students set goals based off pretest results. Then I grouped them. This way I know what adhoc groups to target. Once goals are met I just staple it to their sheet.
